Building Better Care, Not Just a Bigger Practice

A diagnosis may explain what someone is experiencing, but it does not necessarily explain what treatment will work best for them. A child struggling at school may need a different approach from an adult dealing with trauma. Someone managing chronic pain may need a different treatment from someone navigating anxiety or neurodivergence. Even two people with the same diagnosis can have different routines, work schedules, financial circumstances, family dynamics and responses to treatment. That is why Durand Healing & Wellness Center has built its care model around giving clinicians multiple ways to respond to individual needs. Serving patients from age six through older adulthood, the practice combines psychotherapy, neurofeedback, EMDR, family-based care and other services so that treatment can be shaped around the person rather than a single diagnosis or approach. Factors such as family circumstances, schedules, financial considerations and the practical demands of treatment influence which path is most appropriate. That process begins before the first intake appointment. Administrative staff help prospective patients identify therapists whose expertise and approach may align with their needs, while detailed clinician biographies and videos allow patients to learn more about each provider’s background and personality. A free 15-minute consultation gives patients an opportunity to determine whether the therapist is the right fit before beginning intake.

Designing Smiles around the Life Patients Want Back

Dr. Jackson Bean, DDS, DIADI, FICOI

For many people, the decision to seek dental implants does not begin with a desire for a new smile. It begins with years of avoiding certain foods, hiding their teeth in photographs, or feeling uncomfortable in everyday conversations. At Complete Dental Care in Greenville, Texas, Dr. Jackson Bean believes those experiences reveal what patients are truly seeking: the ability to enjoy life without constantly thinking about their teeth. The practice approaches implant dentistry by first understanding what patients want to do again. It may be something as simple as eating a favorite meal, joining friends for dinner, or smiling naturally in a photograph. Those personal goals guide the treatment process and shape the care experience at Complete Dental Care. Where Experience Meets Advanced Implant Care Complete Dental Care has built its reputation on advanced implant dentistry, same-day fixed full-arch solutions and cosmetic dental treatments. Dr. Bean is a general dentist whose signature services reflect years of training pursued around the world, alongside some of the most respected clinicians in implant and restorative dentistry.

Where Medical Expertise Meets Personalized Aesthetic Care

Nina Nalini Harry, Founder

For many patients seeking aesthetic treatments, the goal is often focused on a visible concern, such as dark spots, acne scars, unwanted hair, or signs of aging. At Comprehensive Laser & Aesthetics, the approach begins by looking beyond what is immediately visible. Founded by Nina Nalini Harry, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, the clinic was created around a simple philosophy: aesthetic care should still be medical care. The practice combines medical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, laser medicine, and aesthetic treatments to understand what is happening beneath the surface before recommending a solution. Rather than immediately selecting a procedure, the team takes time to understand each patient’s skin health, medical history, and personal goals.

A More Personal Approach to Healthcare

Healthcare advances when clinical knowledge translates into better decisions for patients. Across mental health, aesthetic medicine, dentistry and complementary therapies, providers are refining how they assess individual needs, select treatments and measure progress. This edition of Medical Care Review examines organizations and healthcare leaders advancing these principles in clinical practice.

Our cover story features Durand Healing & Wellness Center, recognized as the Psychotherapy Neurofeedback Mental Health Clinic of the Year 2026. Serving patients from childhood through older adulthood, the center combines psychotherapy, neurofeedback, EMDR and family-based care. Its clinicians develop treatment plans around each patient’s circumstances, drawing on specialized training and careful consideration of individual needs.

The other featured organizations show how individual needs shape decisions across different areas of healthcare. Comprehensive Laser & Aesthetics, recognized as the Top Laser Treatment Clinic 2026, takes skin type, medical history and pigmentation risks into account when recommending treatments, with particular attention to the needs of patients with darker skin tones. Complete Dental Care, recognized as Top Same- Day Dental Implants and Cosmetic Dentistry Practice 2026, uses digital imaging and advanced implant techniques to plan treatments and carry them through to the final restoration. Carnation Acupuncture, recognized as the Top Acupuncture Clinic 2026, considers each patient’s medical history and circumstances while working to make treatment accessible to people with different healthcare and financial needs.

The leadership features look at how these principles influence clinical decisions. Susan Rathmell, Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Managing Member of Upward Behavioral Health, emphasizes evidence-based psychotherapy, using symptom assessments to track progress and adjust treatment when necessary. At Montshire Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Colin Boswell, Co-Owner; Dr. Jonny Norris, President; and Sam Cocke, Communications Manager, champion prevention-first dentistry and minimally invasive treatments. Their approach demonstrates how thoughtful clinical protocols can reduce the need for sedation and make dental care less burdensome for children and their families.

Together, these stories show how healthcare providers can bring clinical expertise and new approaches into practice while keeping patients’ needs at the center of every decision.
