TheraICE has been recognized by Medical Care Review Magazine as the exclusive recipient of “Top Hot and Cold Therapy Products 2026,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry, and is also named among “,” reflecting its broader leadership. This profile has been developed by the Medical Care Review research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with David Redlich, Co-Founder.
David Redlich, Co-FounderAfter tearing both menisci, David Redlich, cofounder of TheraICE, struggled to find a knee brace that provided the support he needed to return to playing basketball. Unable to find one, he traveled to China to work with a factory and develop one himself. What began as a solution for his injury became the foundation for a company focused on helping people manage discomfort and inflammation.
TheraICE develops wearable hot and cold therapy products designed to deliver targeted therapy for different parts of the body. It serves professional athletes, weekend warriors and consumers across different age groups. Unlike conventional ice packs that can leave users sitting still, TheraICE’s wearable sleeves combine therapy with compression, allowing users to continue working, handling household tasks or spending time with family while getting relief.
“Any type of relief we can provide to get them to spend more time with their family, more time doing what they love and more time working is what we are all about,” says Redlich.
From One Knee Brace to Whole-Body Relief
TheraICE’s first knee brace evolved into a growing portfolio of products designed for different parts of the body, including head, shoulder, arm and hamstrings, along with products like sleep masks. Its specialized gel gets cold without becoming hard, allowing the sleeves to remain soft and comfortable while providing 360-degree compression and targeted cooling to the affected area. This combination enables users to receive therapy while remaining mobile. The approach brings elements of the recovery practices used by professional athletes, like icing and compression, to consumers at a fraction of the cost, giving athletes and daily users a more accessible way to care for their bodies.
That customer-led philosophy also produced one of TheraICE’s top-selling products. While testing the knee sleeve on his hamstring, Redlich recognized that its size and coverage could be adapted for headache relief, leading to the Headache Hat™.
One Headache Hat™ customer described experiencing frequent headaches for almost two years before finding relief with the product.
The Headache Hat™ has also been used for a broader cause. TheraICE donated 50,000 dollars to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer organization to develop a pink version of the product in support of breast cancer efforts, extending its work with the product beyond headache relief.
Customer feedback continues to shape new product development, with TheraICE asking users what they need and using those insights to explore products for different body parts. Its AnySLEEVE™ extends that flexibility by allowing users to apply one sleeve across different body parts, regardless of size or shape, and share it among family members.
The products also offer a non-pharmacological option that can complement medication when appropriate, giving consumers another way to manage discomfort and support recovery.
Innovating for More Targeted Relief
Doctors on staff help guide TheraICE’s product development, while its showroom and product-development process give it a space to test, refine or discard new ideas based on emerging customer needs. It has also developed PRO versions of the products with thicker construction, additional gel and trademarked FocusZones™ that concentrate extra compression and cooling on specific areas. For the Headache Hat™, those zones are positioned around the temporal and occipital areas.
TheraICE is diversifying its lineup past traditional sports and injury recovery. Its sleep mask incorporates a small amount of cold gel to provide a cooling effect for users seeking a more comfortable transition to sleep.
As TheraICE expands its product range and retail reach, it is continuing to respond to changing needs, from growing participation in sports such as pickleball to the everyday demands of an aging population. The goal remains to make targeted therapy accessible across more body parts and help people return to what they love to do.
